Job Summary:
The Experimental Aircraft Test Pilot will be responsible for conducting flight tests and evaluating the performance and handling characteristics of experimental aircraft. This role requires exceptional piloting skills, deep knowledge of aviation and aerospace engineering, and the ability to analyze and interpret data obtained during flight tests. The Test Pilot will collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure the safe and efficient development of experimental aircraft.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-flight inspections and ensure aircraft readiness for experimental flight testing.
- Conduct flight tests to evaluate and analyze aircraft performance, handling qualities, systems, and equipment.
- Develop and execute test plans, including flight test profiles and data collection procedures.
- Interpret and analyze flight data gathered during tests, and provide detailed reports to engineering teams.
- Collaborate with engineers to identify and resolve any issues or anomalies discovered during flight tests.
- Provide input and recommendations for the improvement and refinement of aircraft design and systems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of test flights, including flight logs and test reports.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant aviation regulations, safety standards, and company policies during flight operations.
- Stay informed about industry trends, advancements, and best practices related to experimental aircraft testing.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) or Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
- Minimum [X] years of flight experience as a certified pilot, preferably in experimental aircraft testing or similar roles.
- Extensive knowledge of aviation and aerospace engineering principles, aircraft systems, and flight test methodologies.
